Our home daycare specializes in part-time and occasional care in Leesburg, Virginia.
My goals are to keep the children in my care safe, happy and engaged in the world around them. I believe it is important for all people, even the littlest ones, to be a part of a community. With that in mind we emphasize fun, adventure, wonder, discovery, community, and cooperation.

About the Director
Motherhood
I am the mother of two amazing little human beings and have used and provided various types of childcare over the years.
Co-operative Childcare
I have been exchanging childcare with other parents, both formally and informally, since 2004 and have initiated two childcare co-ops.
Adventures in Teaching
While considering a career in classroom teaching I filled various temporary roles in public schools, private schools, and camps. I have been an 8th grade teacher, elementary PE instructor, after-school program staff member, orchestra assistant, and a substitute teacher. (1999-2002)

Outdoor Leadership & Experiential Education
I have taught and guided youth and adult kayaking programs for years, and led weekend wilderness trips. I have participated in many professional development opportunities during this time, including workshops in teambuilding, experiential education, and facilitation.
College-educated
I earned a BA in English from UC Berkeley in 1999, and later a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from Cal State East Bay (2005).
Always Learning
I continue to educate myself through childcare provider education programs, books, and online forums. I also learn from the parents, children, and caregivers I meet each day.
